Dad Runs A Red Light, 6-Year-Old Son Calls 911

Police department releases hilarious call made by 6-year-old telling on his dad for running a red light

We all like to teach our kids about safety and how and when to call 911, but one Massachusetts father may want to elaborate a little further with his six-year-old. His son called 911 to rat on his dad for running a red light — and the audio from the call is cracking everyone up — especially the Quincy Police Department, who posted the audio on their Facebook page.

They posted the audio with this caption, “Every day we answer numerous 911 calls. Often times, these calls are from individuals who are in need of immediate assistance. Sometimes, it’s a simple misdial. Then there’s Robert’s 9-1-1 call. Robert is a six year old resident of Quincy….”

Little Robbie Richardson may have a future in law enforcement. He has the instinct. Someone needs to be held accountable for running that red light!

Robbie: My daddy went past a red light. He has a black truck. He was in a brand new car, in my mommy’s car.

911 dispatcher: And what happened?

Robbie: He had to go to the car wash and then he went past a red light.

911 dispatcher: He did?

Robbie: Mmm, hmm.

911 dispatcher: Is he home right now?

Robbie: Yeah.

911 dispatcher: Can I talk to him?

Robbie: Yeah!

The six-year-old then passes the phone of to his dad, saying “Somebody just called.” Oh, really? You sneaky little vigilante. Robbie’s dad told WHDH that he taught his son to call 911 in emergencies. Clearly, a moving violation counts, right? “When he says he’s going to do something, he does it,” dad said.
